It’s the week of Earth Day, and we want to remind you how important it is to talk about the climate! Two Bettys participated in the #TalkClimate conference last month and we’re excited to share what we learned.

🌎 Changes in global climate are happening rapidly. The main causes are human activities, and greenhouse or heat-trapping gases!

🌎 If we have a significant reduction in emissions, global temperature increase could be limited

🌎 From @cleanairmoms discussion on racial, social, and climate justice, we learned about the connections between these 3 areas.

We as a community are in Phase 3 of Operation Safe

We as a community are in Phase 3 of Operation Safety Net and not everyone is feeling safe, especially our hourly support staff and cleaners. ⁠
⁠
For our Commercial Cleaners, the streets after 10 pm do not feel good, and driving through the city and having to work after curfew does not feel safer when nobody is on the streets except police and guard vehicles. There are no citizens out to witness or videotape what happens. And for our staff, this does not feel safe. ⁠
⁠
For our Dayside Support Staff and Cleaners, when armored vehicles, National Guard, and police pulled up in the middle of the day without notice, stationed themselves across the street, their hands on their guns, right across from our Refill Station on E. Lake St., our staff working there felt intimidated, uncomfortable, and fearful. ⁠
⁠
We watched cars that were going to the coffee shop or the diner drive away instead. We watched the parking lot of our neighboring businesses empty and heard our cleaners say they did not want to stop at the Refill Station.⁠

MN, we can do better than this. ⁠

Step 1: Bust out that hose attachment on your vacuum cleaner and clean up all dirt and debris.⁠
Step 2: Thoroughly spray the surface with cleaning spray.⁠
Step 3: Using clean cloths (microfiber cloths for the win) and wipe, wipe, wipe! ⁠
